What We Believe

As a church, we believe in

The true humanity and deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The atonement made on the Cross by our Lord for the sin of the world.

The person of the Holy Spirit as the one who sanctifies and who sets apart empowers and imparts spiritual gifts to the Church.

The inspiration of the Bible and its authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Membership of the Church is for those who have received salvation.

Part of wider Baptist Movement

Te Puke Baptist Church is part of the wider Baptist Churches of New Zealand, a movement of faith communities committed to Jesus, community, mission, and justice. Being part of this movement connects us to national support, shared values, and opportunities to work together with other churches across Aotearoa. Church membership is one of the ways we express our commitment to one another and to the shared life and mission of this local and national whānau. You can find out more about what membership means in our Membership Booklet.
